3/15/15 Katie's Healthy Eating Journal: Friday

Last night when I was weighed in at JC I lost 1.8 pounds.  I'm sure this partially had to do with having the stomach flu, but hey, I'll take it.  I had actually lost more but once I started eating regular meals again I gained back two of the pounds.  Either way I'm happy that things are still moving!  Have you ever noticed how losing weight is addicting?  If you were heavy to begin with and you start a weight loss program that gives you some kind of loss each week when you finally reach your goal weight it's both thrilling and a let down; there will be no numbers dropping on the scale anymore.  In your mind you know you are at your goal and that you look good; but the excitement of seeing the number on the scale decrease is so addicting.  I actually think my husband my be having these feelings.  He's at his goal weight on our scale and looks extremely thin for a 6'3" man with a muscular build.  I don't think he should lose anymore but he compares other men his height that weigh 190 pounds.  I think that just goes to prove that a "number on a scale" does not apply to all body types.  Lanky men can weight 190 but not men that have a more muscular build.  It's apparent that men experience some of the same battles as women do!  What's frustrating is that he still gets to enjoy Girl Scout Cookies as his snack at night...not fair!
