 How difficult is it to handle not socially drinking?

Truthfully, EXTREMELY difficult!  Especially because I had just graduated from college and all of my friends were still heavy drinkers.  Let me just tell you, going to the clubs and bars with my friends was not nearly as much fun.  I made the most of it hanging out with my friends and that part was actually OK.  What frustrated me more was that not many were very understanding.  They would say things such as, "Why can't you let loose this one time?  One night of drinking is not going to do anything," or, "It is my birthday, I want you to have fun with me."  Well, darn it, why can't they have fun with me sober?  The reason I was having such a miserable time is because they were peer pressuring me so much!  The quicker they got over it, the more "fun" we could have started having!  I didn't realize how much social settings were centered around drinking until I wasn't.  It is not even as if my family are a bunch of big drinkers, but when we get together we do love enjoying a glass of wine or two.  But, it was clear, when I even enjoyed one glass of wine, my weight increased the following week when I weighed in at Jenny Craig.   I refused to partake in drinking any alcohol unless I had already reserved it in my mind as a special event.  While I was determined to reach my goal weight these celebrations were limited to weddings, bachelorette parties, and that was about it!  Now I splurge about once a month.  Like I said yesterday, this may be the hardest change you will have to make, or maybe for you it will be the easiest!  Whatever the case maybe, it comes down to what you want more.  I was absolutely determined to lose the weight and keep it off.  

I recently had a good question about where to get all these foods I mention in my blogs.  Until tomorrow... 

Weight -  118.0

Exercise - 35 minutes power walking


Breakfast - 

Jenny Craig Breakfast Stuffed Sandwich (200 cal, 5g fat)


1/2 cup organic fat-free milk

Lunch - 

Cedarlane Organic Bean and Cheese Burrito 

Cauliflower and Broccoli

6 oz. fat-free yogurt

sugar-free jello

Snack -


Dinner - 

2 oz. grilled chicken

2 oz. whole wheat pasta (1/2 tsp. olive oil, tomoatoes)

Snack - 

Jenny Craig S'mores Bar (130 cal, 4g fat)
